Our Consultancy directorate is a “behind-the-scenes” organisation, with a variety of specialist staff that supports our front-line teams in their conservation and development work.  This role is to support a diverse team of Consultants that operate out of our Wisley Hub office.

The Wisley Hub is one of five London & South East regional hubs based in a converted historic barn in Wisley village, surrounded by beautiful countryside; on-site parking is provided.  Expect to see a wide variety of foot traffic through your workplace as Consultancy Managers, specialist advisers, national and local staff, all pass through to spend their day working in one of our busiest places.

What you'll be doing

The role has three broad areas:

  • Helping your Consultancy Manager in their support of the properties within their portfolio.  Your Consultancy Manager currently supports Standen, Nymans, Sheffield Park Gardens, Surrey Hills and Woolbeding Garden.
  • Supporting a team of specialists in their work across the region. The specialists currently include: Building Surveyors, Curators, Archaeologists and Gardens Consultants.
  • Assisting the efficient operation of the Wisley Hub office.

As a Business Support Co-ordinator, you'll need to be a first class communicator able to coordinate staff and volunteers to help the team keep running at its very best. We'd like to see very strong organisational skills to help our Consultancy Managers and their teams deliver a breadth and depth of support to the operational front line. 

As your Consultancy Manager is a project management specialist expect to get heavily involved in supporting project work within their portfolio.  This will involve visiting properties on a regular basis.

You'll also be part of a much wider Regional Business Support team who enable our region to perform at our very best to deliver our national and regional priorities. Our hubs are a key resource for our regional teams and part of your role will be to work alongside the rest of the Business Support colleagues on-site to keep our place of work inspiring, engaging and innovative.

  • Helpful and approachable
  • Have clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced with administrative duties, including up-to-date knowledge of MS Office
  • Take pride on delivering excellent customer service
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and flexing your time and focus to support others
  • Experience in prioritising your own workload
  • Good eye for detail
  • Experience of supporting a project
  • Qualifications in IT/Business/Administration are a bonus, but not essential
