We are seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to join our Central Health & Safety team, to manage to compliance of our Sub-Contractors and support the regional Health & Safety teams across the group. Purpose of the Job To produce, review and update as required, the Group Health & Safety Management Systems in line with reviews to Policies and Procedures. Responsibilities of a Health & Safety Coordinator To coordinate the activities of the department personnel under their control, in accordance with their respective Job Descriptions and ensure compliance with the ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 Management systems and operational requirements of ISO 14001. To ensure the updating of the Management Systems for ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and the operational requirement of ISO 14001 and to audit the Departments compliance. To ensure adequate provision of general Health & Safety information and changes to the Group Health & Safety Management Systems to Group, and where relevant Contractor and Subcontractors via CPI or other methods. To regularly review the contents of the Group's Health, Safety and Welfare Procedures for Building Sites, Offices and Site Sales Areas recommending any changes considered necessary to maintain or improve safe working practice on the Group's premises and developments. To assist the appointed Fire Co-ordinator (Group Head of Health & Safety), by ensuring fire risk assessments are carried out and reviewed for all Group Offices, and ensuring the appointment and training of Fire Marshall's in order that fire legislation and procedures are being complied with. To ensure that all reportable accidents / incidents investigations are uploaded to I-Portal along with any corresponding information and liaising with insurance providers to ensure all information required is available To be responsible for the compiling of all relevant accident/incident information to assist in the long term reduction of accidents within the Group. To ensure a system is available to monitor and analyse all necessary information, including the Group's Key Performance Indicators from the Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental inspections in accordance with the requirements of the HSE Committee, the Divisional forums. To monitor and review the Groups 'Key Performance Indicators' for Health & Safety and where required recommend/instigate remedial actions to improve on performance where possible. To ensure the collation and preparation of Health and Safety Statistics, graphs and Divisional and Group dashboards for reporting. To monitor that respective Health and Safety Officers complete divisional forum reports / board reports, or where required complete the report. To conduct annual health, safety and welfare inspections of all offices within the Group. Produce written reports, where necessary, of any observations giving cause for concern, with recommendations to rectify any defects. To conduct necessary follow up visits to ensure appropriate corrective action has been taken. To conduct and complete a risk assessment for all young persons employed within the Group and that the parents/guardians of any person below the official school leaving age are provided with a copy of the risk assessment. Knowledge and Skills To have a health and safety qualification and membership of a recognised Health and Safety organisation (or relevant experience in construction / house building health and safety and prepared to study for a recognised qualification and membership). To hold or be working towards the relevant level of status and membership of IOSH To have a sound knowledge of the construction and / or house building industry and the relevant Health and Safety legislation. To be conducting Continual Personal Development (CPD), to maintain and keep up to date with current legislation, with regards Health & Safety and maintain relevant knowledge. To be in possession or working towards relevant CSCS Competence card, To have good presentation skills and to be a persuasive communicator.
