Rolling contract option available I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU Body Engineering Manager - Body Complete I am currently recruiting on behalf of a client of mine who are a UK Based Leading Luxury Automotive OEM who are located in the South region of the UK They are currently searching for a Body Engineering Manager - Body Completeto join their team on a long term contract basis Body Engineering Manager - Body Complete You will be based onsite the Technical Centre within the Body Engineering Department leading and managing the team of engineers The successful candidate will need experience and knowledge of all body systems (BiW, Exterior, Interior, CAS and Safety) Body Engineering Manager - Body Complete Long term contract role Paying up to £450 per day Body Engineering Manager - Body Complete Division - Body Engineering Location - Surrey Body Engineering Manager - Body Complete Purpose of the Role: - Lead all aspects of Body Engineering (BiW, Exterior, Interior, CAS and Safety) for Projects. - Delivery of all Body systems, including accountability for Investment, Resource, BoM Cost, Styling Theme Feasibility and Delivery from cradle to grave. - Lead a team to deliver Innovative Body systems to exceed customer expectation for Quality, Weight & meet project Financial and timing objectives. Principal Accountabilities - Optimise team structure, leadership, planning, monitoring and control to guarantee breath taking projects on time, on quality and within budget. - Work alongside Project Managers and Vehicle Engineering to lead the design and development of components and systems to ensure optimised vehicle performance. - Establish and deliver, design, release, development and validation plans in association with functional experts. - Establish sourcing & supply chain strategies in association with purchasing and material control to ensure delivery of components and systems on schedule for all phases of prototype, pre-production and production build. - Lead your team to deliver all systems in line with targets, KPI's and milestones set by the MDP and Vehicle Line management leaders, on multiple vehicle programmes. - Promote, implement and support a Simultaneous approach to Body Styling, Design and Engineering where early engagement from all stakeholders is maximised in order to avoid late changes and delays in the overall process. This is including internal stakeholders like Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, other Vehicle Engineering teams, Service/After sales, marketing, etc. and external stakeholders like suppliers, outsourced resource partners, etc. - Develop a high level of technical competence within the in-house team in order to provide a significant and immediate DFM support to the design process without necessarily relying on suppliers - Establish new vehicle donor BoMs and manage evolution through target setting, concept, release and production phases. - Ensure design for manufacture and compliance with global legislation and quality standards of all components and systems. - Review and manage the opening and closure of engineering concerns to meet next build event objectives. - Manage project change control for body systems, offering aggressive cost & timing studies to support robust, timely project decision making and implementation. - Preparation and presentation of material to support external and internal project status and executive reviews. Knowledge, Skills and Experience - Leader of high performance cross functional teams. - Extensive automotive design and development experience. - Excellent systems design and development knowledge. - Experience in component release management and problem solving. - Ideally have experience of high and niche vehicle (low volume) programmes - PC literate, at ease with MS Office products. - Engineering degree. - Formal management qualifications advantageous (DMS, MBA etc. preferred but not essential) Personal Attributes - Natural leadership skills - Must be both a team player and team builder. - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ambitious and self-reliant. - Intrinsically self-motivated.
