We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join this supported living service in Chaldon, Surrey. This service supports six adults with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour. About CMG We are a leading provider of care and support for adults with learning disabilities and associated complex needs, including autistic spectrum conditions, mental health needs, challenging behaviour, profound and multiple learning disabilities and epilepsy. The people we support live in homely, family-like residences, and are encouraged to participate fully in the local community. About you You will have considerable experience working with people with learning disabilities, at a minimum of lead/senior support worker level. You will have your NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2, and either have or be progressing further with your higher level Diplomas. We are looking for dedicated staff who share our passion to ensure that ‘every moment has potential’ for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their dreams and all staff members contribute to making this vision a reality Deputy Manager Duties Support the Home Manager, and deputise in their absence, to undertake all aspects of managing the home, ensuring that high standards of care and support are maintained and adhering to all requirements and regulations (e.g. CQC). Continually monitor and evaluate the quality of the service and implement identified improvements to ensure the most effective use of resources. Support in ensuring evidence based practice is implemented to adults with complex needs including embedding Positive Behaviour Support, Total Communication Approaches and strategies to support people with an autism diagnosis, epilepsy etc. Support the Manager in ensuring Person Centred Approaches are in place and central to all support practice for everyone being supported. Promote positive internal communication and supportive working relationships between all members of the team and strong professional relationships with families, neighbours, local health and social care professionals and CQC. Takes responsibility for the development, implementation and maintenance of detailed person centred plans and risk assessments for people we support, ensuring continuity of care and support of the highest level. Ensure that all staff work towards meeting agreed packages of support, and that service users’ needs are effectively met through a proactive enabling approach. Support the Manager in managing the recruitment of high quality staff and the induction, support, supervision, development, performance management and training of support staff . Ensure that Disciplinary and Grievance matters are handled sensitively and promptly, and that company procedure is followed strictly consulting with the Regional Director and HR Department as appropriate. Promote continuing staff awareness of, and compliance with support packages, Company policies, procedures and guidelines, relevant legislation, and regulatory requirements. Support the Manager in monitoring budgets, including petty cash, the effective use of staffing, and service user’s finances with adequate safeguards in place. Maintains a sound knowledge of appropriate benefit entitlement for the people we support. Demonstrates vigilance to the health and safety of service users, visitors, colleagues and others, ensuring any deficiencies affecting safety and quality of life for the service user are reported to the Manager and immediate action taken. Ensure that medication is ordered and administered in line with Policies and Procedures. Assists the Manager to ensure that the building is well-maintained and provides a safe and stimulating environment for service users. Maintain an appropriate balance between management and ‘hands-on’ work, meeting the needs of the people living in the home. Why work for CMG?
