To assist in meeting the Company's Mission Statement which is to provide quality residential and supported living services; offering an environment for people with a learning disability. Advocating and caring for their needs and ensuring that they are receiving the most beneficial lifestyle that their abilities will allow.


- Put the people we support at the heart of everything you do, to enable then to lead a happy, fulfilled and socially inclusive life

- To work as part of a team to deliver care and support to adults with learning disabilities across a range of accommodation based setting. In addition to having a learning disability service users may also have a mental health condition and may present behaviour that challenges

- Collaborate with co-workers and managers to develop and implement ambitious Person Centred Plans

- To support and accompany the service users to any community based services

- Provide information and advice in an appropriate way to each person living in the service, their families and supporters to enable active decision making and the effective management of risk

- Participate in the dispensing and administration of service user's medication as required

- Adopt the role of key-worker to service users that have been identified. Taking an active role in the planning, assessment and review of service users' care plans

- Take on shift leading responsibility when needed

- Maintain daily records and complete any other relevant documentation

- Be an active participant in assisting management to create a staff team that is built and maintained in a positive environment, promoting productive, effective and healthy team working


- Participate in a rolling rota system including unsociable hours and sleep-in shifts

- Openly report any concerns, queries or idea for improving the service through the correct channels

- Keep management aware of your own development and training needs

- Be aware of and adopt company policies and keep abreast of any changes

- Maintain standard of dress that is appropriate to role

- Maintain confidentiality at all times and to ensure respect for, proper observance of and adherence to Optima Care's data protection and confidentiality policy

- Attend regular supervision sessions with line manager, regular team meetings and undertake relevant training as and when required

- Take all reasonable care of the health and safety of her/himself and of other persons who may be affected by her/his acts or omissions. As regards to any duty or requirement imposed upon the organisation by or under any of the relevant statutory provisions, to co-operate with the organisation as far as it necessary to

- Work at any other Optima Care locations, as and when required

- Undertake any other duties which are consistent with the post
