Job Title: Principal / Senior Engineer - NVH Job Location: Guildford, Surrey, UK Job Salary: £70k-£75k per annum (dependent upon experience) We are currently engaged in several exciting, innovative automotive projects and now have an excellent opportunity for a talented and experienced engineer based at our vehicle design, development and engineering centre in Shalford, Surrey. Responsibilities as the Principal / Senior Engineer - NVH - Lead the NVH attribute for prototype and production vehicle programme and develop in-house capability. - NVH target setting & cascading to subsystem targets. - Coordinate, plan & participate in analysis and test activities to evaluate vehicles, investigate root causes and develop solutions to achieve programme requirements. - Final vehicle sign off against in-house & client requirements. You will be expected to liaise with the design, development, project management, prototype and production manufacturing teams, technical partners and suppliers to ensure the designs meet the requirements for timing, performance, manufacturability and cost. Qualifications & experience It is anticipated that you will be an engineer with at least 5 years' experience in the automotive industry. You should have an engineering degree and have demonstrable experience working within a demanding team environment. You will be expected to have a solid understanding of fundamental NVH theory and how to apply this to achieve programme goals. A good working knowledge of whole vehicle design and vehicle sub-systems is essential. In addition, the following attributes are expected; - Proven success of delivering full vehicle programmes and demonstrated capability of solving NVH problems. - Experience of vehicle and powertrain NVH test and development work, ability to interpret test data and provide guidance for design teams. - Experience of benchmarking vehicles and subjective assessments - Clear and effective communication skills with internal and external clients. - Excellent problem solver, capable of thinking "outside the box" - Quick learner with good time management skills. - Chartered Engineer or working towards chartered status is desirable.
