Senior Planner £70K – £90K Overview of role: To provide planning services to ensure that project plans have achievable timescales and are accurately monitored and updated. Qualifications and experience: Educated to Degree level Member of (or be studying towards) an appropriate recognised professional institution Duties and responsibilities: Hands on experience of using and supervising usage of planning systems e.g. MS Project, Primavera etc. Up-to-date knowledge of planning systems from a user’s perspective Co-ordinate the provision of effective planning and monitoring services to the Project Management team Enable Project Management to control the progress of contracts by identifying and producing integrated programmes of work, monitoring performance against plans and identifying problem areas and other effects Minimise company risk by identifying the critical path for contracts Enable resource planning and levelling by appropriate resource analysis of contracts Enable control of the progress of procurement by producing schedules for all materials and equipment, updating regularly and analysing the implications of updates Update and monitoring of project plans for applications for payment Preparation of tender programmes Preparation of as-built programmes Programmes submissions for requests for extension of time Preparation of project planning KPI’s Person specification Knowledge and experience: Experience in planning the design, procurement and construction of water treatment and wastewater treatment works Civil Engineering/M&E/Building experience At least 10 years’ experience Possess sound understanding of planning skills and programming Desirable knowledge of Causeway software Skills: Excellent in written and verbal contractual communication Advanced in Microsoft Office – particularly Excel In depth working knowledge of planning systems Ability to impact and influence fellow workers Display analytical and innovation skills Internal business processes: Continuously improve on accuracy of information Adhere to company procedures Assist in updating company procedures and processes as required Health safety and environment: Monitor and enforce the latest health and safety procedures, regulations and legislation Reduce waste to a minimum from all departmental activities and ensure a safe working environment for all staff Working condition: Based in the company Headquarters, but with travel as necessary in the UK and overseas to fulfil the above work scope Visits overseas to achieve appointed tasks in connection with either the execution of projects or the winning of new business ATS Recruitment are a specialist agency supplying skilled candidates into the Water, Utilities and Engineering industries on both a permanent and contract basis.
