The department

Our team of business services staff play a significant role in the success of Dentons, and we recruit staff into a wide variety of areas. Here, we look for focused, flexible individuals from a variety of backgrounds who are team players. Previous experience within the legal sector is not essential. We want to give everyone the opportunity to develop his or her potential fully and, therefore, provide support, training and encouragement to members of staff at all levels.

Purpose of role

This is a senior role within the Global Brand team and MBD Europe/UKMEA Leadership Team. It requires active involvement in the development, implementation and regular monitoring/adjustment of Dentons Europe and UKMEA brand strategy. It is also a hands-on role in processing routine and campaign-specific implementation online and offline.

This role reports to the Global Brand Director and functionally operates as part of both the Global Brand Team and the Europe and UKMEA MBD teams.



Championing/driving initiatives that support delivery of the brand promise; driving brand understanding and support throughout the organization.

Responsible for the effective team relations to ensure that a professional service is provided.

Maintaining brand identity consistency by rallying team members in Europe and UKMEA, being the first point of contact for brand issues in Europe/UKMEA and being engaged in all discussions aimed at addressing the concerns/challenges raised.

Working, from conception to completion, on all global brand building strategies and projects

Manages brand training globally with other Brand Manager.

Answer Partner/BD queries on brand using experience and knowledge of what can be delivered within the business.

Assessing key market trends and key competitors to identify how best to position Dentons in Europe/UKMEA and globally.

Builds and maintains trusted advisor relationships with lawyers, staff, agencies, photographers and other external third-party suppliers.

Maintains external service providers list for region and feeds into global.

Prioritizes activity to ensure the most effective contribution to overall business objectives.

Responsible for all administration, reporting and invoicing related to firm wide brand activity produced in the region.

Supports other functional areas (departments) in the development of all branded Dentons materials

Monitors and adheres to all privacy, bar association, SLA or anti-spam control and any other legal requirements affecting marketing-related material or initiatives.

Workflow management

Working closely with the Global Senior Creative Manager to ensure design briefs are clearly defined and ready to go to creative.

Have a thorough understanding on all larger briefs coming through the team and how we can deliver within the business; mapping requirements of each project and reacting to all changing requirements.

Work closely with BD and other internal clients to extract clearly defined and articulated creative briefs to ensure resource allocation is effective, forward planning and mitigating any clashes early

Supporting the brand strategy by working with the global brand team and the global creative team to establish global brand service standards.

Provide client support for initiatives designed to develop new or added value services to clients (bids or key account management).

Prioritize activity to ensure the greatest contribution to overall business objectives.

Working closely with the Global Senior Creative Manager in development of global brand guidelines and ensuring kept up to date.

Support on key PPT initiatives and Word support to BD when required.

Act as brand ambassador across all channels.

Project coordination

Manage and support the delivery of marketing campaigns/initiatives across multiple channels i.e. creative, media, digital, online, events, hospitality, sponsorship, printed literature and advertising e.g. Global graduate recruitment campaigns.

Working, from conception to completion, on all Europe/UKMEA advertising campaigns and global campaigns to be rolled out in the Europe and/or UKMEA region in close cooperation with the Global Brand Director and Regional Marketing and Business Development Directors, external consultants and agencies.

Documenting and keeping track of the campaigns' reach in regions, providing strategic advice at the global, regional and local level in light of these outcomes and in relation to competitor benchmarking.

Support creative and brand teams on integration with new regions globally.

Key administrator on proposed global workflow tool.

Main point of contact for branded merchandise for Europe/UKMEA including signage and stationery.

Manage and implement Global Merchandise Store for regions (with some involvement with global) working with Brand Team and Stakeholders.

Manage template implementation and development in region and global.

Working on the production of videos, webinars, podcasts and other content marketing tools.


Develops relationships with partners, other fee earners and support departments to ensure smooth delivery of creative initiatives
Works closely with global marketing services and business development team to encourage and support global initiatives wherever possible


Supports Global Brand Director and wider Brand team day-to-day and on a project basis

Works closely with Global Brand Director to adhere to budget in all areas

Effectively manages resources, budget and relationships with external suppliers to ensure highest return on budget spent

Partners with key stakeholders, wider team members and external agencies to deliver on complex projects

Contributes to the development of a strong, high-performance culture across marketing communities which positions the firm as an employer of choice

Can do attitude in order to meet competing deadlines and manage expectations of those under pressure

Required experience, skills and attributes


Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail; be able to juggle numerous tasks; demonstrate follow-through and be a self-starter

Ability to diplomatically enforce the correct application of the firm's brand and corporate visual identity

Strong project management skills, process management

Outstanding stakeholder management skills - ability to work with and influence senior individuals and teams across different areas, functions and business units, challenging and overcoming organization boundaries

Design and creative application

Creative solutions, ability to create new ideas, test rigorously and rapidly act to move to implementation

Commercially aware with sound understanding of the professional services and brand/design environments

Ability to work late into evening and/or weekends and be flexible with scheduling

Essential attributes

University degree or university level diploma in marketing, marketing communication or related subject

Previous experience working in a corporate or professional services environment preferred

Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking and time management skills to meet deadlines

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to quickly establish good working relationships and promote best practice across all offices and at all levels

Team player

Ability to manage multiple projects with day-to-day deliverables, demonstrated ability to change tasks quickly to changing demands

Understanding of information design, interface design and interaction design

Good knowledge of template development within Microsoft Office applications useful

Strong understanding of creative briefs and digital asset libraries

Excellent level of computer literacy, proficient in all Microsoft Office

An understanding of the design process and Adobe CS 6 software useful
