Contract Type
Teaching Assistant required for children with Special Educational Needs in West London.

Do you have a background in the SEN Education sector? Are you seeking a rewarding role in Education, one that allows you to use your skills and personality to help young people in their learning? This could be the perfect opportunity for you!

CER is seeking a dedicated teaching assistant to work with children with various learning difficulties and disabilities on their educational journey. We are looking for passionate individuals who want the opportunity to progress in this particular field and are dedicated to committing to full-time roles, on a long-term basis. Our fantastic SEN School is currently looking for an experienced and motivated teaching assistant with the ability to use initiative and take differentiated approaches to learning for students with a variety of needs such as Moderate Learning Difficulties, Autism and Speech, Language and Communication difficulties. To sufficiently support the children, we are looking for candidates with experience in this area; experience of working with children or adults in an education setting isn't essential but you are required to have experience of working with children or adults with additional needs.

The position is for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work with secondary aged children with a diagnosis of Moderate learning difficulties, Autism and Speech, Language and Communication difficulties. Due to the nature of SEN, some pupils may exhibit additional needs as a result, such as challenging behaviour, and it is important to remember that every day is different. The school provides an inclusive learning environment, working closely in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams to fully support their pupils to achieve their full potential. They also provide opportunities for all learners and cover a range of qualifications such as GCSE, Entry Level, BTEC, Duke of Edinburgh Award and ASDAN. The successful applicant will have experience with SEN, a patient temperament, and an understanding of Moderate Learning Difficulties.

Our SEN schools offer only the best possible support to meet the needs of their children, and we are dedicated to finding the highest quality staff available to ensure they can provide this. For this reason we require candidates to be available full time; it is important for children with special educational needs to have continuity and consistency of staff, as too many changes and different people can be distressing for them. If you cannot commit full time for at least 2 months, please do not apply.

To be considered for this role you will have:

* GCSE's in Maths and English, or Level 2 equivalents
* Experience with special needs or within an education setting
* Passion for supporting children with additional needs
* Comfortable working with challenging behaviour
* Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and students
* Dedication to committing 5 days a week, for at least 2 months

Candidates must have experience with special needs, or within an education setting and be hands-on in their approach to supporting additional needs.

If you feel you're the right person for this role, we want to hear from you!
