The Team

Joining at an exciting time, the Project Manager will be part of a team delivering continued sustainable network and application platforms, along with innovation projects in the EMEA region. The team has evolved significantly over the last 12-18 months to include the support of a PMO providing a structured project delivery framework and suite of templates to manage and govern IT project delivery.

The Role

As a Project Manager within the EMEA IT Project Team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of a series of IT projects, producing the required outputs, to the required standard of quality and the within the specified constraints of time and cost.

The role requires the development and maintenance of project plans, project documentation creation, vendor management and managing project budgets. Effective preparation of reports on project deliverables, risks and issue management, and the assessment of progress to schedule. The role holder must be able to present complex technical requirements and issues in a non-technical way to senior business stakeholders.

Project Managers will be expected to follow the Norton Rose Fulbright project delivery framework, using the standard templates provided, and will follow the governance and guidance as provided by the EMEA IT PMO.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the delivery of project products as defined by the Norton Rose Fulbright Project Delivery Framework
Direct and motivate the resources assigned to the Project Team
Plan and monitor the project/s with regard to time, cost, resources and the quality of the end products
Agree roles and responsibilities for the project including the formation of an appropriate project governance structure, aligned to the EMEA and Global Governance standards
Prepare Project, Stage and, if necessary Exception Plans in conjunction with Project Team and agree them with the Project Sponsor and the Programme Management Office
Follow the Norton Rose Fulbright change control process for managing changes to time, spend and scope
Manage business and project risks, including the development of contingency plans
Take responsibility for overall progress and use of resources, and initiate corrective action where necessary
Where appropriate, manage the vendor and product assessment process and external Supplier Management throughout the project delivery
Report to the Project Board and PMO through status reports and project gate reviews
Prepare post implementation reports and include learning's within subsequent project stages

Key skills and experience

Proven Project Management experience with a good track record of delivering projects on time, to budget and to agreed quality standards
Knowledge and experience of project management methodologies
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both orally and written
Strong experience in leading, managing and motivating medium to large-sized teams
Excellent reporting, project planning and stakeholder management skills at all levels
Experience with Microsoft Project (or similar tools) to produce plans for programmes of work and individual projects
Ability to work under pressure, successfully prioritising work without compromising quality
Knowledge of the IT investment evaluation process, including cost/benefit analysis and estimating IT costs/resources
Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies and the application development lifecycle
Knowledge of different software development methodologies e.g. waterfall, agile etc
Strong appreciation of the need for, and use of, the Development and Controlled Test Environments
Familiar with risk management techniques; risk identification, analysis, estimation and mitigation
Familiar with IT architecture, design, development methods, operational service & support

Desirable

Project Management Professional (PMP)
Degree qualified, preferred
Prince2 Certified Practitioner
Agile - SCRUM
Experience working within Rapid Application Development or Agile environments
Knowledge and experience of ITIL processes
